Iesu cymer fi'n dy gôl

Iesu! cymer fi'n dy gôl,
  Rhag diffygio;
N'âd fy enaid gwan yn ôl,
  Sydd yn crwydro;
Arwain fi trwy'r anial maith
  Aml ei rwydau,
Fel na flinwyf ar fy nhaith,
  Nes d'od adre'.

Rho dy heddwch dan fy mron -
  Ffynnon loyw;
Ffrydiau tawel, nefol, hon,
  Fyth a'm ceidw;
Os caf yfed dyfroedd pur,
  Mi drafaelaf
Fryniau ucha'r anial dir -
  Ni ddiffygiaf.

Gwedd dy wyneb siriol sy
  Yn gorchfygu
Y gelynion creulon, cry',
  Oedd yn maeddu:
Gwedd dy wyneb serchog yw
  Fy holl iechyd,
Dyna alwaf tra fwyf byw
  Imi'n wynfyd.

  Teithio'rwyf fynyddau maith
  Teithio'rwyf fynyddoedd maith

Jesus, take me in thy bosom,
  From growing weary;
Do not leave my weak soul behind,
  Which wanders;
Lead me through the vast desert
  Of many snares,
That I tire not on my journey,
  Until coming home.

Put thy peace under my breast -
  A shining fountain;
Quiet, heavenly, streams, this,
  Ever shall keep me;
If I may drink pure waters,
  I shall travel
Hills above the desert land -
  I shall not grow weary.

The countenance of thy happy face is
  Vanquishing
The cruel, strong enemies,
  Who were striking:
The countenance of thy affectionate face is
  My whole health,
There I shall call while ever I live
  Myself blessed.
tr. 2011 Richard B Gillion
